Background

The Seafarers’ Charity, a centenarian organisation supporting seafarers across the UK and parts of the Commonwealth, has been at the forefront of grant funding for over 100 years. Their mission is to tackle the disadvantages of seafaring life by leading collaboration, funding and advocacy to improve seafarers’ lives.

The Challenge

As a longstanding client of Gallery Partnership since 2009, The Seafarers’ Charity recently upgraded to their new grants management software – BenefactorCloud. This cloud-based solution introduced several new features, including device handoff and lifecycle tracking.

Louise Parkin, Head of Grants, shares her experience with Gallery Partnership and explains why the charity continues to use their software.

The Solution

“Choosing a grant system can be overwhelming, given the numerous options available. BenefactorCloud strikes the perfect balance between functionality and affordability, avoiding the extremes of basic, low-cost solutions and high-end, expensive software. Gallery Partnership’s willingness to incorporate our suggestions for additional features and improvements over time is particularly valuable.”

Louise highlights several standout features of BenefactorCloud:

✓ Searchability using Boolean logic for faster, more precise results

✓ Third-party integration capabilities, such as with Xero Accounting, improving efficiency and reducing manual data entry

✓ User-friendly and intuitive interface

✓ Customisable configuration without requiring constant support from Gallery

✓ Ability to make changes independently at no additional cost

While many grant systems offer similar core functionalities, Louise emphasises that the quality of support is crucial. “Gallery Partnership excels in this area. The sense of reassurance they provide is invaluable – it doesn’t matter how sophisticated your system is if you can’t get timely assistance when needed.”

Louise praises the grants implementation team, particularly Laura and Alex, for their exceptional support throughout the upgrade process. “Their responsiveness is remarkable, with questions typically answered within 24 hours. This level of support isn’t just a temporary measure for new clients; Gallery Partnership has consistently delivered exceptional service to The Seafarers’ Charity for years.”

The long-standing relationship between The Seafarers’ Charity and Gallery Partnership, coupled with the successful upgrade to BenefactorCloud, demonstrates the software’s effectiveness and the company’s commitment to client satisfaction in the competitive grant management software market.
